If we are “lucky” enough to be installing an HVAC unit, then we can’t guarantee that we are going to have a lot of work and discomfort ahead of us
As an HVAC technician, I am constantly getting complaints about the prices we charge to install and repair your HVAC units. However, your complaints fall on deaf ears. If you only knew how hard our job is as an HVAC technician, I am sure that you would be more understanding of how we price our labor. Let me tell you about the average day of an HVAC technician. On any given day, we are given a huge list of all the houses in our area with a broken air conditioner or furnace, depending on what time of year it is. Every single one of these people has a serious problem with their HVAC units and every single one of these people thinks that their HVAC issue is more important than all others. When we find an HVAC unit that is not working, it takes us quite a while to figure out what is wrong with your furnace or air conditioner. Every HVAC unit is different, and every problem is different. We spent nearly 8 years studying HVAC units to try to learn how to repair an HVAC unit. No matter how quick we repair your HVAC unit, there will never be enough time to fix everyone’s. If we are “lucky” enough to be installing an HVAC unit, then we can’t guarantee that we are going to have a lot of work and discomfort ahead of us. Our job is not easy, which is why HVAC technicians charge so much for their labor. Our skills are not easily acquired, which is why they have so much value.
