I am glad that we live in a world where people can choose to become whatever they want to be when they grow up.
My daughter is about to graduate from high school, and my wife and I have become extremely interested in trying to figure out what she wants to do.
Well, today she explained that her dream was to become an HVAC technician. During her senior year, she wants to take a dual-credit course at a local trade school to begin her training as an HVAC technician. Once she graduates high school, she will be immediately accepted into their HVAC program, skipping ahead of all the people who didn’t take the course. She explained that the HVAC field is a growing field, and since people aren’t going to be getting rid of their air conditioners or furnaces anytime soon, she will have great job security. HVAC technicians get paid a lot for their work, and it also will help her and her future husband to save a lot of money on repairs to their own HVAC units. She even offered to help us fix our air conditioners and furnaces. The best part was that they would pay her to learn how to be an HVAC technician, meaning that she would start off her life without any debt! I was fully supportive, and I hope that she becomes a great HVAC technician. Maybe she will even start her own HVAC company in the future. We allowed her to enroll int the HVAC program with her local school, and she should find out shortly if she was accepted!
