My husband told me I needed to get a hobby to get me through the pandemic.
My sister got me into a craft class and I found that I was getting really good at making bird feeders.
I made about fifteen of them, in all different shapes and colors. I was thinking I may be able to sell some of those bird feeders, but it wasn’t working out that way. Within six weeks, I had about thirty bird feeders hanging in my backyard. I also had an influx of birds fighting to get food from those bird feeders. I guess I shouldn’t have filled them with bird food. We not only had birds in the backyard, but they were all over our porch and on our air conditioning unit. I didn’t think it was a big deal, except for needing to dodge the bird droppings. I didn’t think it was a big deal until we had a problem with our air conditioning. My husband came in from work one evening, and told me that our air quality sucked. He said I had to call the HVAC company and have them check the air purifier. He had changed the air filters less than two weeks ago. He was thinking there may be a problem with the whole house air purification. Two days later, we found out our air purification system was working well. It was the air conditioner that was failing. With all of the birds, our air conditioner wasn’t able to work properly. There were bird droppings inside the AC unit. There were sticks and other debris building up in the AC unit. He said we had to get rid of the birds or replace the air conditioning unit.
