This may be trying times for the world, but it seems to be bringing out the best in all of us.
- I don’t know why it happens; I only know that when the situation is at its worst, people tend to be at their best.
I can vouch for the change of attitude that people have right now. My wife and I weren’t able to have our air conditioning maintenance done last month. It gets warm early in the season, in our area. By mid-April, our temperatures are often heading toward the 90 degree mark. Without air conditioning, it gets very hot in our house. We don’t have any shade trees to keep us cooler, and air conditioning is our only reprieve. When we called for servicing, the HVAC company told us it was going to be a couple weeks before they could send someone to help us. They were apparently working with a skeleton crew. My husband was really worried that something could happen to the air conditioning if we didn’t have it cleaned on time. We had forgotten to have the maintenance done the year before. We thought that if we were to at least change the air filter, it would keep the air conditioning safe until the maintenance could be done. If our air conditioner had been new, we wouldn’t have worried, but our air conditioner was almost fifteen years old. When we got to the home center, we were told they were out of the air filters. If it hadn’t been for the generosity of a stranger, we would have walked away with empty hands. When a gentleman heard our plight, he followed us out of the store. He kept his air filters in his car and he offered to share with us.
