As the floor employer, I don’t want to be seen as commanding the central thermostat for my own, admittedly off-beat, body temperature issues.
I miss seeing the sunshine. In my new work office, which is a much larger and nicer office than I have ever had before, there are no large windows. Well, there is one window however it just leads out into the bullpen of cubicles, so it hardly counts as a correct window. I have regularly been what I consider a cold-blooded style of human, not in terms of being mean or nasty, however what I’m saying is that I’m literally needing to sit in the sunshine to boil myself up. Those lizards that sit on rocks in the sunshine to raise their entire body temperature, that’s me in a nutshell. Now I am dependent on the climate control device of the office, which I share with all of these other people. At least I have my own office, so that means I can bring in a space furnace and that will hopefully alleviate the air temperature problem. As the floor employer, I don’t want to be seen as commanding the central thermostat for my own, admittedly off-beat, body temperature issues. I want all my office workers to be comfortable, because that has a sizable impact on work output, so I let them control the office thermostat and I try to stay in my office, warm, as much as possible. With the space furnace on and the door closed, it can get super nice and sweltering in there. I could use moisture now. However, a humidifier puts so much moisture into the air it would really ruin all the paperwork I have on my desk.
