I have lots of kinky, curly hair, and I have to do lots of work to keep it under control.
I have used all different kinds of shampoo, conditioner, and a multitude of other products and treatments to prevent my hair from frizzing up overnight after I wash it.
Since I live in such a warm, humid climate, it is very difficult to have my hair behave the way I want it to. A secret that I wish someone had told me earlier was to use a dehumidifier to help tame my curls. A dehumidifier can typically be one of two types of devices. A portable dehumidifier can be plugged into any room and will effectively remove the moisture from the air, and prevent it from infiltrating your hair. These types of dehumidifiers are less of an initial investment, but they can only be used in one room at a time. A second type of dehumidifier is one that can be installed in-line with your existing HVAC system, and will work to remove the moisture from your entire home. These types of dehumidifiers typically require a larger investment up-front, but will be more effective at removing the humidity from your home, since it will remove moisture from the air that is being circulated throughout your home. The installation for my in-line dehumidifier was quick, and non-invasive, and did not interfere with mine or my family’s life during installation, and since then my hair has never looked better! Everyone at work has commented on how great my curls have looked, and I owe it all to my HVAC technician for installing my new dehumidifier!
